The minimum requirements for admission in LLM Maritime Law program are as follows:
a. LLB Degree from any reputed university.
b. Applicant with general education must have at least second division or CGPA 2.25 in all public examination.
c. Applicants with GCE must have passed at least five subjects in O level (including mathematics) and at least two subjects in A level. However, applicant having more than two ‘D’ grades in O level and/or more than one ‘D’ grades in A level shall not be eligible for admission.
d. Applicants having at least two years job experience shall be given preference.
e. Mariners having Bachelor degree with minimum 5 years of service experience may apply for Masters in Law program. In such case, the degree title will be M.Jur. Students of M.Jur program will have to complete few additional courses to fulfil the degree requirements.
LLM in Maritime Law program is conducted by the Department of Maritime Law and Policy under the Faculty of Maritime Governance and Policy (FMGP). This is an 18 months full time professional postgraduate program which is equally divided into three semesters. First two semesters of six months each for taught courses. During the third semester, students are to complete dissertation, internship and Moot Court. Total contact hours for a course in a semester are around 56. The program also includes at least one field trip/study tour/industrial visit in each semester. In the last semester, students go abroad for an international study tour. The duration of each semester is 26 weeks. Distribution of a semester is as follows:

Special emphasis on legal concepts and skills required for effectively administrating and handling its legal issues.
